A clearing in the pines
The Long House imagines two low pavilions in an East Texas clearing. A sheltered passage joins the part of the house for company to the part for quiet. Cedar, pale brick and a simple metal roof give the concept an honest material language. The trees keep their place in the view. The idea is to build a good life around them.

Inside
The main room leaves a long view open toward the meadow. A brick hearth gives a chair somewhere to gather when the weather turns. The kitchen and table stay close enough for cooking to remain part of the conversation. Across the passage, a quieter bedroom takes its scale from the trees outside. The proposed rooms are generous in use, rather than crowded with things.

Outside
The terrace is a sheltered edge between the house and the clearing. A long table makes space for people to stay awhile. Loose grasses meet the brick without much fuss. Through the passage, morning light draws a different line each day. The house is still a concept, with the next chapter open.
